Career
Gale has a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Boston University and a master's in documentary film and video from Stanford University.
From 2007 to 2011, Gale was the Vice President of Marketing for Virgin America, where she was hired to launch the brand, including online marketing, the loyalty team, and in-flight content.
Prior to joining Virgin America, Gale was General Manager at marketing firm Kirshenbaum Bond and Partners and freelanced at Publicis & Hal Riney and Bozell. Gale also founded her own marketing firm, the Porter Gale Group, and production company, Porter Pictures. The Porter Gale Group's clients included Country Music Television, Blue Shield of California, and Delta Dental.
Porter Gale is currently serving as the SVP of Strategic Partnerships for Globality Inc., a start up based in Menlo Park, California.

Filmmaking
In 1998, Gale was the executive co-producer of the documentary 2 Chicks, 2 Bikes, 1 Cause. The film detailed a bicycle journey of Gale and another rider, Donna Murphy, who pedaled 5,000 miles across 18 states in four months educating women about early detection and prevention of breast cancer. Lifetime broadcast the film in 1998.
In 2000, she co-directed the short documentary XXXY (film), a portrait of two individuals born with ambiguous genitalia. The short calls into question the medical practice of gender assignment surgery of intersex infants and children. XXXY was broadcast on PBS in 2000. and can be seen via Interface Project.
In 2010, Gale was a co-executive producer of the CW Network's Fly Girls, a reality docu-series that followed the personal lives of five flight attendants working for Virgin America.
Gale has also made documentary-style commercials for Kohl's and Country Music Television.
